About ABAF
Business Executives in Ghana and of course Africa are operating and making several inroads while academics and their administrative counterparts are also teaching, researching, and administering projects of immense importance to the well-being of the nation. It is however mind-boggling why these groups operate in isolation. The kind of synchrony that a nation needs to propel it to greater heights is therefore missing in emerging African economies. Academic and business research, if
well-coordinated, can propel these emerging economies of Africa to develop multi-dimensional sustainable economies.
Furthermore, most of the challenges Africa is facing can now be conveniently called wicked problems. Our problems have become entrenched to the extent that we need a holistic approach powered by multidisciplinarity. No single sector can solve its problem without critically looking at the whole picture.
It is therefore incumbent on universities and higher education managers to bridge the gap between businesses and academia. Industries firm up plans, conduct their independent research, and need assessment in advance with the needed resources in anticipation of a well-thought-out research that will answer their business questions. Unfortunately, higher education institutions may have their research outlines emanating from their research agenda, but these are along lines different from the priorities of industry

The Academics, Business Executives and Administrators Forum is therefore being suggested to foster interaction among the crème de la crème of the Ghanaian brains to help chart the right development path. It is important that businesses and academic institutions collaborate for their mutual benefit as well as set the pace for the nation’s development.
Our official and registered full name is Forum for Intelligentsia and Executive Management. But our trade name is ABAF. The areas that ABEAF will look at include:

To start with, ABEAF will organise a conference every other year to address topical issues in the above areas. These will be broadened through appropriate stakeholder consultations. ABEAF will dialogue with the various government agencies and appropriate sector ministries to have an impact on government policies.
